For 10 years, The Institute for Health and Social Equity has opened doors to careers in nursing, STEM, and Public Health Sciences through scholarships, mentorship, and leadership development. As we enter our next decade, we’re inviting new voices to help us grow. Whether you have a few hours a month or want to lead at the board level, there’s a place for you.

Volunteer Opportunities

Fundraising Committee
Help grow support for scholarships and programs. Volunteers assist with donor outreach, sponsorship development, and planning our annual fundraising events.

Social Media and PR Committee
Help share The Institute’s story. Volunteers support content creation, social media, scholar spotlights, and media outreach.

Community Outreach Team
Help connect students and families with opportunities. Volunteers represent The Institute at schools, career fairs, and community events, and help spread the word about our scholarships.

Board of Directors

We are seeking new board members who share our commitment to expanding access to health and science careers. We are especially interested in:

  • Recent graduates who bring a fresh perspective and can help us connect with the students and scholars we serve
  • Leaders with fundraising experience who can help us grow support for scholarships and programs

Board members help shape The Institute’s strategy, support fundraising, and serve as ambassadors in their communities and professional networks.

Part-Time Executive Director

We are seeking a part-time Executive Director to help lead The Institute’s day-to-day operations. Key areas include:

  • Donor and sponsor relationships
  • Financial recordkeeping support
  • Compliance and governance tracking
  • Communications and inbox management

The ideal candidate is organized, mission-driven, and comfortable working independently with a small, dedicated team. Additional details will be shared with interested candidates.
