Our mission is to decrease health disparities by improving the health and social equity of vulnerable populations and underrepresented groups. We received our designation status as a non-profit organization in July, 2016.
About Sherri Wilson, DNP, MPA, RN
Dr. Sherri Johnson Wilson is the Founder of The Institute for Health and Social Equity, Inc. She is a nationally recognized healthcare leader from the greater Washington DC metro area. Over the past two decades, Dr. Johnson Wilson has served in various leadership roles to improve equity at the nexus of education, policy, and science. The most common thread has been her work to improve quality and access to healthcare and education for diverse populations while building the next generation of healthcare and STEM professionals. Dr. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Nursing degree from Hampton University, a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Seton Hall University, and a Doctor of Nursing degree from Johns Hopkins University. She is an Education Policy Fellow with the Institute for Educational Leadership and a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing both in Washington, DC.
